And hey, 60 is the new 40 anyway!

Your grandmother sounds amazing, and what a great role model.Rev Dr Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11607665272056430039noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-51325316610324615532010-09-18T08:42:05.733-04:002010-09-18T08:42:05.733-04:00I guess I am young then, though last night with 3 ...I guess I am young then, though last night with 3 Daves, I was the old guy ;')Stratozhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10148600260976577216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-13642296275003104352010-09-18T08:24:14.584-04:002010-09-18T08:24:14.584-04:00You and your grandmother are both inspiring to thi...You and your grandmother are both inspiring to this 59-year-old seminarian!Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874279169293689003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-36582177364834436692010-09-18T07:46:15.753-04:002010-09-18T07:46:15.753-04:00I, too, am 57. I've always thought of retirement age as way out in the future and it only recently occurred to me that "that age" could easily be less than 10 years away. I am not ready to retire, not at all!

A surprising thing happened last winter. I went to my young(er) chiropractor with some new back pain, and he asked me what I had been doing. "Shoveling some snow," I replied, and he looked at me with this amused look and chided me with, "Why on earth were you doing that?" like I was so cute -- and foolish! --to think I could still be shoveling snow at my age. It was the weirdest feeling!

Go for it -- whatever "it" might be! The best new pastor I know is over 60. One thing I'm sure of is that ordination isn't in my future - whether I could pass the exegesis exams or not. :)Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12617476463347663364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-20929171344641873792010-09-17T20:37:20.339-04:002010-09-17T20:37:20.339-04:00I, too, love hearing stories about your grandmothe...I, too, love hearing stories about your grandmother.
