A couple of years ago one of our members broke her leg very badly and was in a rehab institution for several months. We went there for Bible Study as the residence allowed us to book a meeting room. I knew it was important for this member to be together with us but your post highlights the enormity of her isolation had we not been willing to relocate. Thank you for sharing your own experience and insights.Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06336536082191736636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-51015339622756966772014-03-07T08:32:16.674-05:002014-03-07T08:32:16.674-05:00It was the cold and snow that caused more isolatio...It was the cold and snow that caused more isolation for many and perhaps gave us more of a sense of introspection. Sometimes when someone we care about is in pain, we hesitate to intrude and perhaps disturb what might be an exhausting day. As I thought about this, we often visit a person in the hospital or other outside place of caregiving, while we perhaps "Don't think we should bother" them at home. Hmm, something to add to my thinking about visiting.

We miss the daily interaction of humans even when we know God is with us always. It does create a kind of Lent and Your points are worthy of much thought..

EveE. This post definitely made me pause and reflect on how I can become more attuned to those who might be in a fluctuating or "permanent state of Lent."
