You sort of helped me give myself permission to skip church today, which I think was the gentlest thing I could do right now.ajowenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11594506673794844413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-22021824381663608192011-03-08T07:43:44.124-05:002011-03-08T07:43:44.124-05:00"The desert is that uncharted terrain beyond ..."The desert is that uncharted terrain beyond the edges of our seemingly secure and structured world, where things begin to crack."<br />If my world holds so few things that are structured and secure anymore, and I live each day trying not to fall too deeply into those cracks, where do I go from here? Perhaps toward the vision of that house, while feeling my daughter's hand in mine for the sense of peace to which I referred in my recent post...<br />Thank you for this, Robin.Mary Pottshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03952052366072701992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-31062601404675503942011-03-07T13:45:20.703-05:002011-03-07T13:45:20.703-05:00That house is the perfect illustration for where y...That house is the perfect illustration for where you find yourself now.Lisa :-]https://www.blogger.com/profile/02237889098638895390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-23075682881662529262011-03-07T11:06:32.831-05:002011-03-07T11:06:32.831-05:00Thanks for the link to the essay, Robin. I'm going to forward it to my niece and the friends whose adult daughter died a couple of weeks ago.<br /><br />I like your illustration--the contrast between the stark neutral colors of the desert and the life-giving saturated tones coming through the plexiglass panes is inspiring!Jody Harringtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08031378214797420014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-27016824933113984162011-03-07T09:58:32.384-05:002011-03-07T09:58:32.384-05:00Even a desert can have its wonders, or so we are f...Even a desert can have its wonders, or so we are finding. Lent, as a walk through a desert, doesn't sound as appealing when you are already walking through a desert. There is such a longing for rest, comfort, hope. But the truth is that this world is a desert, and our resting place is still a world away. So we march on knowing our citizenship is in Heaven and we are on the road to there.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14519140951660677172noreply@blogger.com
