I hear it a lot -- "I'm struggling with this" or "I'm struggling with that." I don't know exactly what is attempting to be conveyed - probably something like, "hey, cut me some slack I'm trying." It becomes a phrase to which I'm fairly attuned and my response is often - let go of that struggle. Not because we shouldn't try - but because in that instance, struggling is keeping someone from God's will in directing the situation.

However, your post is different. It seems to me that if we're going to spend some part of our life struggling THIS is exactly what it should be about. How can I keep my eyes on Christ and his message? How can I fill my role this day? What can I do to see better? These questions about living my life in a struggle to stay facing toward God, and to actually see Him in all.

Wonderful post. In whose face did I fail to recognise God?" "Have I been aware of Chist's priorities today?" might be an equally difficult question. None of them make me feel particularly comfortable.Juliannenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3907440527168314545.post-57161095376091439152012-03-05T11:14:08.128-05:002012-03-05T11:14:08.128-05:00Robin,

Praise God.

I very much appreciate your reflections on this subject. I am very much in need of shifting my heart to, as you put it, "the priorities of Christ."

May God help us in our struggle,

PaulPaul Brian Campbell, S.J.http://peopleforothers.loyolapress.comnoreply@blogger.com
