2011 Highlight: Tiffany Gardens

My friend Wayne posted some images today of mosaics based on Tiffany designs.  At least I think that's what he posted ~ it's a Wordless Wednesday over at his blog.

His post reminded me of some wonderful artwork I never got around to sharing this past year.

When we visited the Biltmore Estate during our summer vacation in western North Carolina, we discovered that the gardens had all been planted to reflect Tiffany designs.

The photos don't do them justice; they were a delight!

(If you enlarge the bottom image, you will see a dragonfly spread across the diamond-shaped garden.)

  1. Hey Robin, it is a Tiffany mosaic inspired by Parrish painting. It is 15 feet by 49 feet and had to be fought for to prevent its destruction.

Hoping the vulnerability eases. Christmas is a grueling time for ministers whether or not they have had to face medical treatments for breast cancer. take care.

The Biltmore is amazing, but I don't recall the Tiffany Gardens from our visit. always a strange thing enjoying the beauty of what can happen when someone lives in the 1%.

  2. Thanks for the clarification.

I think the Tiffany garden design was a 2011 one-time thing.
