This is a fairly new monument in the cemetery in which I walk. I love it. To me, it evokes the balance that seems so elusive in those contexts that bring us to cemeteries. She embraces the flowers, her face sad but calm; she faces the wind that blows her hair back and gazes quietly into . . . whatever it is.
Quite beautiful especially in context.
ReplyDeletebeautiful. reminds me a statue of Mary in a church near here. She is older woman/Mary, though, one whose life is reflected in the wrinkles in her face. This one looks as if the young woman is about to dance...
ReplyDeleteThis is very beautiful. I love the flowers.
ReplyDeleteThe expression on her face seems almost wistful - a bit like the Mona Lisa in that it can't be read easily. Beautiful statue.
